By downloading or using Finmate ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App. Questions: support@finmateapp.com.

1. About Finmate

Finmate is a personal finance tracking tool that helps you manually log transactions, set budgets, track debt, and monitor savings goals. The App does not connect to bank accounts, does not provide financial advice, and is not a licensed financial institution.

2. Not Financial Advice

All content, calculations, forecasts, and insights provided by Finmate — including AI-generated suggestions — are for informational and educational purposes only. Nothing in the App constitutes financial, investment, legal, or tax advice. You are solely responsible for your financial decisions. Always consult a qualified financial professional before making significant financial decisions.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must be at least 13 years old to use Finmate. You agree to provide accurate information and to notify us promptly of any unauthorized use of your account.

4. Your Data

You own all financial data you enter into Finmate. We do not sell your data to third parties. By using the App, you grant us a limited license to store and process your data solely for the purpose of providing the service to you. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to reverse engineer, copy, or redistribute the App
• Use automated tools to access or scrape the App
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' data
• Upload malicious content or interfere with the App's infrastructure

6. Free Tier & Advertising

The core features of Finmate are free. The free tier is supported by non-intrusive ads served by Google Mobile Ads. Premium features (including AI Insights, launching in V1.1) will require a paid subscription. Pricing will be disclosed clearly before any purchase is required.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that calculations will be accurate in all circumstances. Financial data you enter may contain errors — you are responsible for verifying its accuracy.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Finmate and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including any financial losses or decisions made based on App data or insights.

9. Termination

You may delete your account at any time through the app's Settings. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notification or email. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
